Jobot is partnering with a growing Denver based construction company to fill a position as a Project Accountant. The Project Accountant will be responsible for the following:

  • Job Costing: Manage all aspects of job costing, including budget setup, cost tracking, and variance analysis. Ensure accurate and timely job cost reports are provided to project managers and leadership.
  • GL Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions related to assigned projects.
  • Credit Card Reconciliation: Oversee and perform monthly credit card reconciliations, ensuring all charges are properly coded to the correct projects and GL accounts.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures. Prepare detailed budget analyses to highlight trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Financial Reporting: Be open to learning and understanding how to create and analyze quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned projects, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee AP/AR related to specific projects, ensuring timely billing and payment of subcontractors and suppliers. Handle progress billing and payment requisitions.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and contract terms. This includes reviewing and approving contracts, change orders, and payment applications. Understand Conditional and Unconditional Lien Waivers
  • Project Audits: Assist with internal and external audits related to job costs, contract compliance, and project performance.
  • Change Management: Track and monitor contract change orders and their impact on project budgets. Provide financial insight into potential changes and risks.
  • Liaison Role: Serve as a key point of contact between the accounting department, project management, and clients to address any financial or contractual issues.
  • “A Jack of All Trades”: Joining a small company inherently means jumping in to certain tasks that aren’t specified. Be willing to help outside the boundaries of a typical accountant. Having a positive and ‘willing to help’ attitude goes a long way.
